LAST YEAR'S MOST PRAISED FINNISH DEBUT ALBUM !
Another almost full stars review (SmackTheJack.net 4,5/5) and more verbal praising (Vanguard Online, UK) makes Battle For Humanity probably the most successful finnish debut album of the year 2007!  Allready 8 international critics have rated the album a full 5 star (or 4/5) masterpiece...! Not bad from an indie band, eyh? =)

To celebrate this success the band continues to "fight against the windmills" and releases their second single from the album as a split single together with another independent group from Tampere called Renoise. Everyone who buys this new single will also get a free rare bonus track composed by these two bands together like an "rock battle". The actual single song from Lines of Leaving will be Hearts In Overdrive, which ironically criticizes the media's saturation. The releaseparty will be held at Klubi, Tampere on the 9th of February from 17.00 to 20.00 and it's going to be an all age evening so everyone is welcome to celebrate with us...!

Jälleen rapsahti lähes täydet pisteet (SmackTheJack.net 4,5/5) ja sanallista kehua (Vanguard Online, UK) Battle For Humanitylle niin että nyt voidaankin jo olettaa levyn olleen todennäköisesti eniten kansainvälisissä arvosteluissa täysiä pisteitä (tai yhtä vaille) saanut kotimainen esikoisalbumi vuonna 2007. Jo 8 kriitikon 5 tai 4/5 tähden arvosteluiden nojalla voitaneen julistaa levy epävirallisesti viime vuoden kehutuimmaksi kotimaiseksi debyytiksi! (infotkaa jos tulee jotain vielä menestyneempää mieleen..!)

Tämän kunniaksi bändi tahtoo näpäyttää isompiaan ja ”jatkaa taisteluaan tuulimyllyjä vastaan” julkaisemalla toisen singlelohkaisunsa splittinä yhdessä toisen tamperelaisen pioneeribändin Renoisen kanssa. Linesien kappale sinkulla on Hearts In Overdrive, joka sopivasti kritisoi median uutiskynnyksen saturoitumista. The single hit the charts and was 13th in the TOP20 single list. It dropped out artists like Apulanta, 69 Eyes and Ville Valo !!!  Same time it left behind many new singles released at the same week, for example Red Hot Chili Peppers, Robbie Williams, Rubik and Superchrist... LINES OF LEAVING HITS THE STATES, MAJOR LABELS AND ELECTIONS...
Lines of Leaving has released their new single "Survival of The Fittest". This will be the first single of Lines of Leaving released by the record label Independent Sounds. With this single, the band wants to remind, that the human race is as strong as the weakest individual. In animal kingdom it is usual to sacrifice the weakest member of the herd for the rest to survive. Is this how we want to act among human beings? How long can we exploit the Third World before it has been ”sacrificed” for the well-being of our ”herd”? The biggest supporter of this ”survival of the fittest” kind of evolution is the ”world police”, United States of America, which puts the crusades of the top government officials before the well-being of its own people. With this single Lines of Leaving wants everybody to ask themselves do they really want only the strongest (=richest) to survive...? Also to criticize the oversized, greedy and futile production lines of big labels they are giving away a free entry to the single’s release party in Telakka on 2^nd of March with every cd bought. Just to show them that an indie labels can still strive in the world where assembly lines stuff artificial music products down your throat from every direction.

With bands previous release "I'ts Not About Us Anymore"- charity single for the Finnish homeless (over 700 copies sold!) and with the Rock 4 Homeless-tour which the band organized (special thanks to So Called Plan, Jann Wilde & Rose Avenue, Bitch Alert, Superchrist and many others), they have been able to raise enough money to the event called “Homeless Shadow Elections”. This event will be organized together with the organisation called Vailla vakinaista asuntoa ry. It will be a non-formal lunch meeting where the band has invited homeless people and candidates who are running for the parliament .It will be held on March 15th at Ravintolalaiva Wäiski in Helsinki.

The lunch will be served so that the members of parliament will have the ”homeless lunch” and vice versa. While having lunch they will discuss and try to come up with a solution to the problem of homelessness in Finland. At the end of the lunch there will be an election by the homeless. The parties will chose a representative among them, who will give a speech about: ”How me or my party could solve the problem of homelessness?”. After that the homeless people will vote the best four of the representatives to the ”shadow parliament”. These four will be given the chance to speak at the evenings main event at Kulttuurikeskus Gloria. This event will be open to all people. There is going to be many cutting edge artists performing, and the parliament candidates will try to raise awareness for their views ,chosen by the homeless….

So welcome to Gloria on March 15th  (Finland’s parliament election Week) or to single release party on March 2nd!

LINES OF LEAVING ISKEE JENKKEIHIN, ISOIHIN LEVY-YHTIÖHIN JA VAALIKANSAAN...
Yhteiskuntakriittisestä melorockistaan tunnetun Lines of Leaving-yhtyeen tuorein sinkku nimeltä "Survival of The Fittest" julkaistiin riippumattomiin bändeihin erikoistuneen Independent Sounds Oy levy-yhtiön kautta 28. helmikuuta, sarkastisesti USA- ja länsimaisen riistopolitiikan hengessä. Tällä yhtye tahtoo iskostaa länsimaisen ajattelumalliin ajatusta sosiaalisesta darvinismista eli vahvimman selviämisestä, heikompien karsiutuessa. Ihmiskunta on yhtä heikko kuin sen heikoin jäsen. Eläinkunnassa heikoin yleensä uhrataan, jotta lauma selviäisi. Tahdommeko toimia näin myös ihmisten kesken? Kauanko voimme riistää kolmatta maailmaa, ennen kuin se on uhrattu ja kuollut sukupuuttoon oman laumamme vuoksi? Vahvimmaksi tästä evoluutiokehityksessä nousee jo vaarallisen monen maailman poliisiksi myöntämä Yhdysvallat, joka uhraa tälläkin hetkellä oman kansansa hyvinvoinnin maan eliitin ristiretkien eteen. Sinkullaan Lines of Leaving haluaa herättää jokaisen kysymään itseltään haluaako todella, että vain vahvimmat (=rikkaimmat) selviävät? Major- levy-yhtiöiden massiivisia markkinointi koneistoja kritisoidakseen ja pienlevy-yhtiöhin kohdistuvaa piratismia vastustaakseen Lines of Leaving tarjosi kaikille sinkun ostaneille ilmaisen sisäänpääsyn julkkareihin Tampereen Telakalle 2.3.

Lines of Leaving- yhtyeen edellisellä singlellä "It´s Not About Us Anymore", kerättiin tuottoja ja huomiota Suomen asunnottomille. Yhtye onkin saanut kasattua vuodessa mm. jo lähes 700 sinkun myynnillään ja järjestämällään Asunnottomien Yön tukikonsertti-kiertueella tarpeeksi rahaa Kodittomien Varjovaaleihin, jotka yhtye järjestää 15.3. Helsingissä yhteistyössä Vailla vakinaista asuntoa ry:n kanssa. Yhtyeen itse suunnittelemassa tapahtumassa kutsutaan vapaamuotoiseen "lounaskokoukseen" Ravintolalaiva Wäiskiin kansanedustajaehdokkaita ja entisiä ja nykyisiä kodittomia (sekä tietysti mediaa).

”Kokouksessa” lounas tarjoillaan kerrankin niin päin, että edustajaehdokkaat (jotka tulevat tienaamaan lähes 10-kertaisen bruttoansion kuukaudessa työttömään verrattuna) saavat syödäkseen kodittoman kenttäsopan ja kodittomat edustajan keskivertolounaan. Siinä samalla edustajat keskustelevat vapaasti kodittomien kanssa, ja yrittävät yhdessä kehitellä ratkaisuja Suomen asunnottomuusongelmaan. Lounaskokouksen lopuksi pidetään varjovaalit, joihin jokaisesta suurimmasta puolueesta valitaan yksi edustaja pitämään puhe aiheesta: "Miten minä tai puolueeni voisi poistaa kodittomuusongelman eduskunnasta käsin?". Tämän jälkeen kodittomat äänestävät neljä sellaista ehdokasta, jotka olisivat heidän mielestään kykenevimpiä auttamaan asiaansa eduskunnasta käsin. We are happy to announce that Lines of Leaving have founded a music company called Independent Sounds Oy, which  will start it's business on the first of January 2007! As you might have already figured out, the album that was previously due to be released on Christmas is delayed and the new schedule is in the summer 2007. "ROCK 4 HOMELESS"-CHARITY CONCERT TOUR BY LINES OF LEAVING!
Lines of Leaving presents a tour of charity concerts for the homeless people in Finland and their support organization Vailla Vakituista Asuntoa RY. Concerts take place on the the week of UN's International Day for the Eradication of Poverty 17th of October and the "Night of The Homeless" (Asunnottomien Yö). Several great bands are performing in the concerts for free to help to raise funds and attention for the 7500 homeless in Finland. The profits of the concerts are donated to VVA-organization wich uses them to raise focus on homelessness in Finland.

The first music video for Lines of Leaving has been finished and can be watched online at MUSIC- section or at My Space.

The video will also participate in Oulun musiikkivideofestivaalit 6.-10.9.2006 in "Kansanpumpeli"-series. That is an audience award so everyone available please go and vote for it at Nuku and Rio. In the festival you can also see the video from big screen at Nukun Studio on wednesday (10:00) and on friday (15:00).

CELEBRATE WHO's WORLD HEALTH DAY 7.4. WITH LINES OF LEAVING FOR FREE!
Every second 20 children of age below 5 die from reasons that could be prevented...

Every month more people die from lack of clean water than died in the 2004 Asian catastrophe all together...In the developing countries every day 14 000 people die from the diseases resulting from poor water quality...

In Africa where the constant problems of insufficient healthcare are one the worst in the world, there are even 15 times more patients per a health worker compared to the OECD countries..Watch a video about this and read more about the World Health day at the World Health Oraganization homepage...

Next friday Lines of Leaving will be performing for free in Laterna, Tampere on World Health Organization's World Health Day 2006. The event will be a support night for UNICEFon account of the "Silent Tsunami", a constant global issue that consists mainly of poor economy and lack of effective healthcare and clean water. All of them are problems that could be solved by working together as a one global caring nation and sharing the wealth now controllod only by the OECD countries...

In the Unicef support event on 7.4.06 at Laterna Lines of Leaving will also perform their new song about "silent tsunamies" for the very first time. THE BATTLE FOR HUMANITY HAS BEGAN
Lines of Leaving have announced their new primary objects for their music.
1) To make people more aware of the alarming problems of human kind, that others usually keep quiet about, and
2) To get people to empathize for the weak and powerless who can't stick up for their rights on their own so that the world wouldn't become a place where survival of fittest (equals wealthiest these days) would take place among humans too. In order to achieve these goals Lines of Leaving invented their own kind of melodic, touching and catchy rock music with always something to say and criticize. Half of the band has educational background from the social studies so that the topics and the message in their songs are deeper than the shallow headlines found media-sexy by the commercial news channels.

As a first shot in this battle for humanity Lines of Leaving released their first studio debut as a charity single for the homeless. This is at the same time a statement of their musical interests and a first effort to make people aware of the things they wouldn't normally know or care about. In a country that has one of the best and most expensive social benefit systems in the world, how can there still be 10 000 people without a home? And every year approximately 500 people more end up in the streets. Homelessness is seen as a personal failure and not as a social issue, resulting from political decisions.

So why the homeless? A homeless is a living example of the kind of human that doesn't get anyone’s sympathy and therefore no one bothers to stick up for him or her until their problems concern people's lives practically. Marginalized or distant problems of human kind are not to be cared by the well-being and continuously prospering majority. The reason why our first studio single is a charity single for the homeless comes from that ideology. It is a statement from the band that how they are wanted to be heard: As a voice of the feeble.

The charity single "It's Not About Us Anymore" has two goals: 1) to raise people's awareness of this rising problem and 2) to gain publicity and profits for the homelessness organisation (VVA Ry) in Finland so that there would be more people caring and fighting for the ones who will otherwise get pushed aside.The profits from the charity single are donated to an organization founded by the homeless in Finland (Vailla Vakituista Asuntoa RY). The first official Lines of Leaving studio recording ever has been now recorded and it's waiting to be finally realeased 1.3.2006.The doublesingle will carry a name "It's Not About Us Anymore" and it will be a charity single for the Vailla Vakituista Asuntoa RY (organization founded by homeless) to cut down the instantly growing racistic attitudes towards homelesness, especially among the young people.
